New Teacher’s Edition
- Format: Students and teachers will now see the materials in the same format.
- Flags: By clicking a Flag icon, teachers can attach their own notes to any Curriculum Pathways resource. Not only does the flag make the resource easy to find (like a bookmark), it also ensures that teachers can simultaneously see (and update) their own comments about how and when they intend to use the material. By preserving a busy teacher’s preparatory work and linking it to the source material, flags improve efficiency and eliminate the frustrating question, Why did I save this page?
- Quick Launch: Browsing and accessing resources will be easier because teachers will now have the same Quick Launch feature previously available only to students.
- Dashboard: Once teachers find an interesting resource, they can use our new dashboard to flag a resource, access content-related standards, view a lesson guide, or access student directions for a resource.
- Access: Teachers will now use unique login names and passwords—and be able to retrieve forgotten login information via e-mail. Teachers will use their school’s access information the first time they log in and their personal access information for subsequent logins.

New resources
Math: Intermediate Algebra Interactive Tools
The Simplifier, Solver, and Grapher tools add depth to student’s basic understanding of Intermediate Algebra (typically Algebra 2). Students can practice basic operations with complex numbers and solve quadratic equations with non-real solutions. Grapher tools allow students to explore the concepts of translations and inequalities, polynomial functions, and piecewise functions—beyond the traditional textbook or chalkboard approach. In all tools, the number of problems is unlimited and appropriate feedback is given as students work through each step in simplifying, solving, or graphing problems. A graded quiz is available for assessment in each tool. |

Social Studies: Early Regional Civilizations
Using a case-study approach, students answer key questions on topics ranging from the emergence of Islamic empires in the Middle East or the Kingdom of Mali in West Africa to life in Medieval Europe or the achievements of the Byzantine Empress Theodora. Narrated background movies feature historical images, charts, and graphs. Students read and analyze primary-source documents using the Document Analyzer, which stores and organizes their work for assessment. These new InterActivities address state and national standards in the study of world history, world cultures, and geography. |
 |
Spanish: Culture & Civilization
These InterActivities provide culturally authentic content and a context that allows students to learn, review, and reinforce grammar concepts (verb ser, reflexives, and the imperfect, preterite, and compound tenses). Reading, writing, and listening skills are enhanced in a level-appropriate environment. Students explore cultures by means of their practice (festivals), products (architecture), and perspectives (daily routines). |
 |
Science: Physical Science
Students explore a single concept or process that is best understood in an interactive, multimedia format. The simulations enable students to visualize processes that occur on a micro scale or to understand interactions on a macro scale. Virtual labs include Free Fall, Linear Motion, Circuits, Kinetic & Potential Energy, Atomic Structure, Solution Properties, Wave Properties, and Chemical Equations. |
 |
English: Communication Skills
The new topics in this category focus on non-fiction and young adult literature and emphasizes pre-reading, during-reading, and post-reading strategies throughout the lessons and online activities. |
